Lawrence wrote to the air Ministry in 1949 asking for information regarding the crash of A4-K.

The lapse of time between 1944 and 1949 does not indicate a lack of care or interest on the part of Lawrence, merely that the Air Ministry were un able to deal with the number of enquiries and the responses it could handle at the time!

This was literally the first opportunity that He was given to make an enquiry.

However.....Gallenhoff does not exist on any German map!!

Where is Gallenhoff?

Answer......it doesn't exist!

It should read

GAITENHOFF !

Once you change this and read it in conjunction with Reg Favagers diary (and correct his spelling mistakes!) it all fits perfectly!
