Heinz Rokker

I was quite certain that Hptmn Heinz Rokker had shot down Lancaster A4-K, however, after consulting the Luftwaffe records for the period and after calculating that the reporting times differed between our records and the german records (by 1 hour), I have removed the Rokker pages until such time as I can confirm the status.

The picture opposite matches all the current known reports. The details from Reg Favager's diary can be matched to the image opposite.

The Air ministry report details the 190 x 20 mrs strip of pine forrest at Gaitenhof. This is clearly visible.

Crash Site ?

Lancaster A4-K, LL693 was shot down over Stuttgart on the night of 15/16 March 1944. It had already discharged it's bombload successfully. It crashed at Gaitenhof in the north east Stuttgart area.

This is the Crash site of A4-K.

Consider the facts

Only Sgt Lawrence Casey and Sgt Reg Favager survived the impact of the crash by parachuting to safety.
