In 1950 Lawrence wrote to the Air Ministry to enquire into what records existed for the circumstances surrounding the loss of Lancaster A4-K2. It is likely that before this time, the information was probably not available. Lawrence did make a personal visit to the Durnbach Cemetery. His black and white photo is shown on the "Lest we forget" page.
